Duro Olowu Floral Prints & Patterns Dresses Hits The Market
Print Mix Master, Duro Olowu is about to become a household name to all who frequent JC Penny. The limited-edition designer collections of popular print mix designer, Duro Olowu will be available at JC Penny this spring 2013.
This is the first collaboration between JC Penny and a seasoned designer as it seeks to bring back its old customers and hopefully reach a quickly growing demographic group, the young fashion conscious customers, or fashionistas, as they prefer to be called.
Chances are, if you are a JC Penny's customer, you probably got an email announcing the introduction of this sought-after designer's pieces to their spring collection. This means, you and I can get designer collection of dresses, shoes, accessories, and even home items, such as, luggage, trays, dishes, notebooks, and folders, at non-designer prices.
Meet The Designer, Duro Olowu
Who Is Duro Olowu?
Duro Oluwu is definitely not your ordinary designer. Believe it or not, this accomplished London-based Nigerian-Jamaican Fashion Designer is not new in the business. In fact, he's been wowing the fashion industry for over a decade with his signature ethnic prints, some of which has been donned by an A-lister like Michelle Obama.
Yes, first lady, Michelle Obama was spotted wearing one of Duro Olowu’s fabulous and colorful print pieces during a segment of the Oprah Winfrey Show on which she and President Barack Obama were guests. She paired the look with orange kitten heels. Mrs. Obama has since been seen wearing other outfits from the collection of designer Duro Olowu.
Let's Hear Your Opinion of These Prints Collections
Do You Think This Mix-Match Duro Olowu's Print & Pattern Styles Will Help or Hurt JC Penny's Market?
Duro Olowu Has A Way With Prints, Patterns, And Colors
What Olowu does best is his ability to create beautiful pieces out of a subtle mix of ethnic prints and traditional african fabrics with a twist of western style. Not every designer can do that.
Duro Olowu's glamorous creations spans across every body type. From voluminous long skirts and gowns that will be a good fit for both the body conscious and religious customers, to form-fitting column gowns, capes, coats for today's fashion setters, or fashionistas.
At first glance, Duro Olowu's mix of print, patterns and colors may appear a bit like a clash of colors and patterns. Chaotic, is how some have even described it. However, there's a certain sophistication about them that's not only innovative, but refreshing. And that's what adheres me to his fashion style.
Though you probably won't find me wearing his creation the way you see it below, I definitely won't mind pairing it with some solid tops or bottoms for a new and fresher look. Blending prints and patterns may just be what I need for your fall and winter wardrobe.
